What is Beegie?
Beegie is a socio-environmental enterprise that aims to reduce waste by turning otherwise thrown away products into candles. Founded by Renzo Lacida (me!), Beegie uses beeswax and coconut wax to create a fully sustainable candle away from all those petroleum alternatives to promote peace inside our homes.
Finding sustainable solutions that help protect the environment and are profitable is crucial if we want to show our planet that we love it. Dyed with orange oil made from orange peel waste, we want to bring colour and a wonderful atmosphere into your homes.
About Beegie
Beegie was inspired by two things.
The first is the goal of protecting peace in our home. Candles make our loved ones, especially in my family, feel at home, safe, and most important of all – happy. When made from beeswax and coconut wax, we can enjoy using candles without the guilt of harming the environment and without the chemicals that harm ourselves.
The second, and arguably more important idea, is the sustainability aspect of the candles. Made from waste products, it goes to show that profitable solutions don’t need to be complex or hard to execute to make the world a better place. Each candle bought plants a tree for Smallholder Coconut Farmers in the Philippines, which makes the product as a whole carbon negative.
Sustainability isn’t a charity case – when done right, it can be a lucrative way to save our planet.
